Rebellious Princess: She disobeys her parents on several occasions and rarely does as she's told (which sometimes comes back to bite her in the ass).Princess Classic: Played with-while Annika's beautiful, kind and has an animal companion, she's also a more active and rebellious example of this trope.Plucky Girl: She is almost always brave and determined, even when things look pretty bleak, and her motto is to never give up hope.She also owns pink ice skates, which she later trades for information on the gem of ice. Pink Means Feminine / Princesses Prefer Pink: A few of her outfits are pink, such as the dark pink sweater she wears in her first scene and her light pink party dress.Pimped-Out Dress: She magically gets one at the end, when she breaks all of Wenlock's spells with the Wand.
Nice Girl: Although she initially comes across as a Bratty Teenage Daughter and can be a bit standoffish at times, she's usually very kind and always tries to help others. He Is Not My Boyfriend: In regards to Aidan when Ferris asks if they're looking for an engagement ring. 
Hair of Gold, Heart of Gold: She has blonde hair and is very compassionate and loving. Guile Heroine: She uses trickery to escape from a giant's clutches. Overlaps with Purple Is Powerful when she uses the Wand of the Light in the end. Graceful Ladies Like Purple: Most of her outfits are purple or lilac. Good Is Not Soft: When Wenlock injures Brietta, she actually tries to use the Wand of Light to destroy him. She's even willing to traverse mountains during a snowstorm to find the pieces of the Wand of Light. Determinator: She goes to great lengths to save her family and their kingdom and refuses to give up hope. Defiant to the End: When Wenlock is about to bury her under a small avalanche, she simply glares defiantly at him. Damsel out of Distress: She manages to rescue both herself and Shiver from the giant Olly and is ultimately the one who defeats Wenlock. In the climax, she uses it to skate down a crevasse to sneak into Wenlock's castle. Chekhov's Skill: Her talent for ice skating. Then she sneaks out again and everyone in her kingdom gets turned to stone. Can't Get Away with Nuthin': First she sneaks out to go ice skating and is permanently grounded by her parents. However, when she realises they were only trying to keep her safe, she snaps out of it pretty quickly. Bratty Teenage Daughter / Royal Brat: She acts like a bit of one at first, such as whining that her parents are "ruining her life". The Atoner: When she finally realizes that her parents had a perfectly justifiably for being so protective of her, Annika feels terrible for her earlier behavior towards them and seeks to make things right. Annika is a free-spirited princess who loves ice skating and sets out to build the Wand of Light to save her family and kingdom.
